Tools To Help Get In Shape

working-outGetting in shape has become popular among men and women alike. Using sports helps with gaining the pleasure principle and creates results with getting in shape. Bike riding is right in there with all other activities because it offers great fun.  Getting in shape today comes with tools to help get in shape by monitoring your body giving you data to maximize your efforts.

In this post, we are going to cover one tool that has the responsibility of helping you keep up with your fitness level so you can watch your progress and get data as you are getting fit.

What Types Of Tool Is Available?

You have a choice between the sports watch or the fitness tracker bands. They both are capable of managing the task of monitoring things like heart rate, calorie counting, measuring travel distance and time, step tracking and even sleeping activity tracking.

They are both an item of choice and really depends on what you want out of having a fitness tracker. Below is a video to give you a comparison on which one will do better under different demands.

Which one would work better for you? Either one of these tools will take away all the stopping to monitor your heart rate and other data like you had to do traditionally. You will be supplied the data at the push of a button.

Take a look at the top 5 fitness watches below.

These are all great if you decided that you can live with what the watch had to offer and was it going to be able to provide you what you needed as far as getting the data you needed.

Fitness Bands

Fitness bands seem to be the more practical one to me but that is not saying that the fitness watch like the Motorola Moto 360 Sport is not a good option. As we said earlier it works for some and not for others.

Fitness bands are really more comfortable especially if one of your desires is to track your sleeping activity. Below is a video to give you some insight on the various fitness bands available.

Wow, these things are awesome. If you noticed the technology of these things are molded around the types of activity you perform. They have every base covered seems like. What I do is ride bikes mostly and that is why I was attracted to the Tushi Pal in this video.

There are other companies that make some good products as well such as Actofit amongst many others. They all provide a product to help us strive at getting in shape and being healthy.

So what did you decide? Was it the watch or the band? I think they both are awesome products and what I have come to the conclusion of is that it depends on the person. Everyone has their own different way of monitoring their vitals depending on what they are doing.

So both of these products will find a person who will get good use out of them.

  1. Thanks for the rundown on the differences between these two items. Out of curiosity, how do you feel some of the newer cycling apps are on the phone? I know they aren’t going to be as effective, but do you think they are an ok proxy if purchasing one of the above is not in my budget, or should I save up and go for one of these?

    • Actually, the bands can get within a reasonable price range. The Tushi Pal I had a link to in the post was only $59.00. As far as the smart phone apps, you can connect these devices to your smartphone. The Motorola Moto 360 watch is pretty low as well but not so low where it will fit in everyone’s budget. At &148.00 dollars you can save up for that pretty easy. I will look a little into the cycling apps because I have not explored them yet.

  2. I’m a huge fan of fitness watches – I have worn one for a few years now and absolutely love it. It helps keep me in line with my goals and reminds me to get up and move when it’s been too long. Like you pointed out, they really are awesome!

    • I love when I get a user to leave comments about how this product could work for them. This way they just don’t have me talking about it. I also mentioned that between the watch and the band will boil down to personal preference as well.

  3. Oh wow this post is very timely. My husband and I have been putting a considerable effort into to making sure we exercise just for the sake of our health and he has been trying to get me to get something that will help keep track of what we are doing and our progress. Since you give both a thumbs up that gives me some confidence. I think the fitness band is my choice. Thanks!

    • Glad you liked it. You will learn more about using them once you own one. There are a lot of things you can monitor with them and when you first get one you have to learn the ropes but it will help you keep track of what you are doing.
